WCSC Referee Program Assigning Protocol for 2011-12
1.
1) Self-Assign (“SA”) no more than 2 Games each day until Wednesday for Saturday
and Thursday for Sunday, when you can add a 3rd Assignment if available.
2.
2) Game Values are reduced each week on Thursday for Saturday and Friday for
Sunday to fill any open assignments. That will also allow any Official with a
lower rating to SA to a Game above their Rating. It will get the coverage we
need and give you experience on games that are more challenging and an addition
to your future Upgrade Request!
3.
3) If you SA for 2 or more Games, only one can be as Referee! Any others will be
as ARs.
4.
4) Do not SA to Games in which you may have a conflict. a)Those would be Games
in which one or both Teams could perceive you not being fair because your child
or parent (grandparents, etc.) is on one of the Teams as player or Coach; In
addition b) Avoid back to back Games on different fields, unless you can be at
the 2nd field 30 minutes before Kick Off (KO).
5.
5) If it rains within 24 hours of the Game Day, check the WCSC Rain Number:
925-256-3574 before you head out to your match. If you forget to check and
the Site is listed as closed at the Rain Number, you will not be paid for the
Assignment.
6.
6) If you try to SA for an Assignment and you cannot, it means you are not rated
for that Game. DO NOT request to be assigned to that Game or request an Upgrade
so you can officiate that Game. It will not be honored or answered! There is a
Protocol to follow for upgrade
CLICK HERE Follow it! If you want to know what a Game is rated at

7.
7) Avoid SA a Game if you do not know your Game Schedule. This will avoid Late
turn backs, which create problems for the Assignors in trying to fill a Game
Assignment.
8.
8) If you have an emergency, your sick or you receive a late Game time change
from your Coach, CALL, TEXT, and EMAIL IMMEDIATELY to the Assistant Assignor on
duty! If you feel sick or you have your game time changed Friday, do not wait to
contact the Assignor Saturday or Sunday morning, especially if you have the 1st
Game of the day! Contact the Assignor IMMEDIATELY!
9.
9) Failure to follow the protocol, especially if it leads to a No Show on your
Assignment, will lead to a suspension for a period in which you will not be able
to SA Games. Cooperate with the Assignors and they will cooperate with you.
