Ball size: #4
Number of Players: eight (8) players, including 1 goalkeeper - minimum of 6
players.
Duration: U9 &10 2 X 25 minute halves. U11 2 X 30 minute halves.
Goal Kicks will be taken from the penalty area for U9&10
Goal Kicks will be taken from the goal area for U11
Offside: YES conforming to FIFA laws of the game.
Goalkeeper Rule: No player may play more than 50% of the game as goalkeeper.
Fouls and Misconduct: conform to FIFA laws except in U9&10 matches - all
FREEKICKS are INDIRECT, which means NO PENALTY KICKS. All fouls will result in
an "Indirect Free Kick" with the opponents 6 yards away.
U11
- Free kicks can include direct, indirect and penalty kicks with the opponents
10 yards away.
Slide Tackles: these are allowed if done properly and in a non-dangerous manner.
Generally, coaches should discourage sliding at this age level. They are
difficult to do cleanly, and will more often result in a foul call or the player
taking him/herself out of the play by being on the ground while the opponent
goes on to make the play.
Referee must explain all infractions to the offending player.
